Aston Villa Confirms New Contract For Star Attacking Midfielder
Morgan Rogers has signed a new contract with Aston Villa that will keep him with the Premier League club until 2030.
The attacking midfielder, who made the switch to Aston Villa from Championship side Middlesbrough in February, has signed a new contract following a strong beginning under Unai Emery.
The 22-year-old has had an excellent start to the 2024/25 season, scoring three goals in 11 league appearances.
His success at club level saw him earn a call-up to interim England manager Lee Carsley’s final squad, featuring in wins over Greece and the Republic of Ireland earlier this month.
Rogers’ outstanding performance at Villa has positioned him among the top attacking midfielders in world football, as he has successfully transitioned from his earlier wide role to excel in the Premier League.
He’s also enjoyed inspiring showings in the Champions League this season, offering an assist against Bologna to help Villa earn their top-eight spot in the new tournament standings. Villa sits in a similar position in the Premier League, slipping to 9th after defeats to Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool.
They will be back in action on Saturday against Crystal Palace. Villa will be looking to bounce back from their last encounter with the south London side, where they suffered a 2-1 defeat in the Carabao Cup at the end of October.
