It was a night to remember at San Mamés as Athletic Bilbao put on a brilliant performance to defeat Atletico Madrid in the Copa del Rey semi-final, setting the stage for a captivating final against Mallorca on April 6th.

Sportxparte reports that the duo of Nico and Iñaki Williams took centre stage with their amazing performance.

The brothers showcased their incredible chemistry, with Nico delivering a perfect cross for Iñaki to score a sensational goal early in the match, sending the home crowd into joy.

The siblings continued to amaze the fans with their link-up play, as Iñaki returned the favour by setting up Nico for a chance that narrowly missed the target.

However, their partnership worked once again as Iñaki’s run down the flank and provided a sublime assist for Nico to calmly slot the ball past Oblak, effectively putting the tie beyond Atletico’s reach before the break.

Despite a temporary pause in the game due to a medical emergency in the stands, Athletic maintained their domination in the match. Oihan Sancet came close to extending the lead but was unable to find the back of the net. However, Gorka Guruzeta seized the opportunity, pouncing on a rebound to further increase Athletic’s advantage.

Atletico Madrid attempted a comeback with substitutions by Diego Simeone, but Athletic stood firm. Julen Agirrezabala displays his shot-stopping abilities with a couple of smart saves, stopping efforts from the likes of Memphis Depay and Rodrigo Riquelme to preserve his clean sheet.
