Barcelona’s Araujo Expresses Disappointment Over Girona Defeat

Ronald Araujo, the defender for Barcelona, expressed deep disappointment following their 2-4 loss against Girona.

Araujo, speaking after the match, revealed that the team wasn’t feeling upbeat after their defeat.

Girona’s relentless offence proved challenging for the Catalans as they conceded four goals, with their defence struggling to contain Michel’s determined side. The match at Montjuic could have seen even more goals slipping past Barcelona’s defence.

In an exclusive insight, Araujo acknowledged the strength of their opponents, stating, “We were against a formidable team. Our focus now is on moving forward and striving for improvement.”

Acknowledging the prowess of Girona, Araujo added, “The game is done, and tomorrow we’ll shift our focus to the next one. We’re not pleased with today’s outcome. Their possession wasn’t surprising; we knew they were a quality team. We were aware that running would be key in this match.”

Describing Girona’s strengths, Araujo noted, “They possess exceptional ball-handling skills and display remarkable agility. Their fluidity in changing positions is commendable.”

The defensive frailty of Barcelona appears worrisome for manager Xavi. While the Catalans only conceded 20 goals in 38 matches last season, this campaign has seen them allow 18 goals in just 16 games, indicating a significant vulnerability in their defence line.
