Bayern Munich Offers Kingsley Coman To Barcelona
Bayern Munich has offered Barcelona the chance to sign winger, Kingsley Coman on loan for the 2024/25 season, according to reports.
Barcelona has shown a strong interest in Spain international, Nico Williams throughout the summer transfer window.
However, they appear unlikely to secure the forward from Athletic Club, as the club has remained steadfast in their decision not to part with their young talent over the past few months.
The Catalan giants need an additional left winger in their squad.
Joao Felix, who is on loan, often occupied that position during the 2023/24 season, while Raphinha and Ferran Torres also stepped in occasionally.
However, according to SPORT, Barcelona could potentially benefit from Kingsley Coman being deemed surplus to requirements under new manager, Vincent Kompany at Bayern Munich.
The recent arrival of Michael Olise from Crystal Palace could harm the 28-year-old’s game-time prospects and the chance to reunite with former Bayern boss Hansi Flick at Barca could appeal to him.
However, Sky Germany reports that Barcelona is facing a challenge with player registration, as they are currently unable to add any new signings to their roster after reaching an agreement for RB Leipzig midfielder, Dani Olmo.
Bayern haven’t had any firm offers for Coman as of yet but former club, Paris Saint-Germain is reportedly keeping an eye on the situation.
Barcelona remains hopeful about reaching an agreement with Athletic for Nico Williams, as president Laporta is reportedly not to give up in their pursuit of the Euro 2024 star.
Coman played a large role as Bayern won the sextuple in 2020, scooping the Bundesliga, DFB-Pokal, DFL-Supercup, Champions League, UEFA Super Cup, and the FIFA Club World Cup. It was his goal in the Champions League final that helped the German giants beat PSG during Flick’s time at Bayern.
The winger scored five goals in 27 appearances across all competitions last season, and his streak of 11 consecutive league title victories ended as Bayer Leverkusen claimed the Bundesliga title under Xabi Alonso’s management.
