Benjamin Sesko Renews Contract With RB Leipzig

RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Sesko, who was being pursued by Arsenal, has made the decision to remain with his current club.

In a recent development, Sesko has signed a fresh contract with RB Leipzig, leaving Arsenal and several other clubs to rue their missed opportunity in securing the services of this promising young striker.

Renowned transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano, has just confirmed that Sesko has committed to staying at RB Leipzig.

He added that the player has reached an agreement for a unique arrangement termed as a “new gentleman’s agreement.”

This agreement resembles the one Erling Haaland had with Borussia Dortmund, allowing Sesko to potentially depart from the club in the future with mutual consent.

“Benjamin Sesko has decided to STAY at RB Leipzig and sign a new contract on improved terms. The decision made for the talented striker is similar to what Haaland decided back in the days at BVB. Šeško will stay at Leipzig with a new gentlemen’s agreement for a future exit,” Romano noted earlier on GiveMeSport.

This is a significant setback for Mikel Arteta’s side, as the Gunners had high hopes of incorporating the young striker into their team and potentially building their future around him.

With a vacant striker position to be filled this summer and Arsenal openly expressing their search for young talent, Sesko appeared to be the ideal candidate for the North London club and Areta’s style of play.

This situation puts Arsenal in a difficult position as many believed they would be able to persuade Sesko to join the club and embrace their project.

However, with indications that he will stay for at least another season, Arsenal will need to revise their plans for the striker department and potentially delay certain strategies.

Naturally, every club has alternative options and Sesko is not the only player who fits the desired profile. There will be other players who meet the criteria Arsenal is looking for.

Nevertheless, Sesko seemed to be the perfect choice when considering the bigger picture.

It will be intriguing to see whom the club decides to pursue now. Will Arsenal seek a temporary striker who can complement Havertz in the meantime and wait for Sesko next season?
