Paul Pogba Banned From Football Over Alleged Doping
French professional footballer Paul Pogba has been banned from football over alleged doping.
Sportxparte reports that the midfielder, who has been absent from Juventus matches since September, underwent testing in August, which revealed heightened levels of testosterone, a hormone known to enhance athletes’ stamina.
According to the tribunal, Pogba violated anti-doping rules when they found the prohibited substance “non-endogenous testosterone metabolites”, adding that the results were “consistent with the exogenous origin of the target compounds”.
The second test sample of the player has undergone verification, resulting in Pogba receiving a four-year ban, which is regarded as one of the most severe penalties for this offence.
