Chelsea Agrees Deal To Sign Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall From Leicester

Kiernan Dewsbury Hall has been granted permission to undergo a medical as Chelsea and Leicester have reached an agreement on a £30m deal.

The 25-year-old will soon undergo a medical examination and has tentatively agreed to a contract that will tie him to Stamford Bridge until 2030.

Brighton was close to completing a deal with Leicester for the 25-year-old in a cash-plus-player transfer, with Poland midfielder Jakub Moder heading in the opposite direction.

But those talks collapsed after Dewsbury-Hall made it clear he wanted to move to London when Chelsea entered the running.

The Dewsbury-Hall deal helps Leicester hugely towards meeting Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR) but it remains to be seen whether they will be fully compliant.

The move will reunite him with former Leicester manager Enzo Maresca, who officially takes over from Mauricio Pochettino on Monday.

Dewsbury-Hall was a regular starter in 41 out of Leicester’s 46 matches when they secured the Championship title under Maresca last season. During that time, he netted 12 goals and provided 14 assists.

Chelsea Academy graduate Michael Golding could join Leicester although that deal is separate from Dewsbury-Hall’s.

The list of Leicester players and managers who joined Chelsea recently:

  • N’Golo Kante – 2016
  • Danny Drinkwater – 2017
  • Ben Chilwell – 2020
  • Wesley Fofana – 2022
  • Enzo Maresca – 2024
  • Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall – 2024
