Colombia secured a spot in the semifinals of the Copa América 2021 with a resounding 5-0 victory over Panama at State Farm Stadium in Glendale.

The action kicked off early in the match James Rodriguez delivered a perfectly placed corner kick that found Cordoba, who expertly headed the ball into the back of the net from close range.

Just minutes later, Rodriguez was in the spotlight again as he calmly converted a penalty to double Colombia’s lead, leaving the Panamanian goalkeeper helpless.

Despite a brief scare from Panama with a close attempt hitting the post, Colombia remained unfazed and continued to press forward. Rodriguez once again proved to be the architect of Colombia’s success, this time setting up Luis Diaz with a precise pass that Diaz skillfully chipped over the goalkeeper to make it 3-0 before halftime.

As the second half unfolded, Panama struggled to find a foothold in the game, with Colombia maintaining control and dictating the pace. Richard Rios’ deflected shot came closest to a second-half goal before Daniel Munoz’s well-timed strike from outside the box extended Colombia’s lead to 4-0.

The match leads to a dominant performance by Colombia, with Miguel Borja converting a late penalty to seal the emphatic 5-0 victory.

Colombia’s journey in the Copa América 2021 continues as they advance to the semifinals, where they will face Uruguay in a highly anticipated matchup.

On the other hand, Panama’s valiant effort in the tournament came to an end with this defeat, marking the conclusion of their impressive two-match winning streak.
