Chelsea have announced the signing of Aston Villa forward, Omari Kellyman, on a six-year deal.

British news outlets have mentioned that the transfer agreement between the two Premier League teams is valued at approximately 19 million pounds ($24.02 million).

Kellyman, an 18-year-old, has appeared in six matches for Villa in the Premier League.

He came from Birmingham City’s youth system after moving from Derby County in 2022 and has represented England at the youth level.

“It’s a massive club with an amazing history, so it is great to join… I want to be successful in the Chelsea shirt, win games and hopefully lift trophies,” Kellyman told the club website.

“(Overtime), hopefully, I can become one of the faces on the side of the stadium. I want to become a big player for this club.”

Earlier, it was Villa who signed Chelsea left-back, Ian Maatsen.

The 22-year-old versatile defender impressed on loan at Borussia Dortmund last season as the Bundesliga side reached the UEFA Champions League final.

Ian Maatsen returns to the Premier League after facing challenges with limited playing opportunities at his home club Chelsea towards the end of 2023.

Aston Villa has officially announced the acquisition of Ian Maatsen from Chelsea, securing the left-back on a permanent deal.

Maatsen’s transfer to Villa Park involves a rumoured fee exceeding his previous £35 million release clause, which was only available to Borussia Dortmund.
