Everton managed to end their run of three consecutive Premier League losses by securing a hard-fought point in a 1-1 draw against Newcastle United at St James’ Park.

Newcastle started the game brightly, with Harvey Barnes coming close to opening the scoring early on, only to be denied by a brilliant save from Everton’s goalkeeper Jordan Pickford. However, it was Alexander Isak who broke the deadlock for the Magpies, continuing his impressive goalscoring form by calmly slotting the ball past the Everton defense to give his team the lead.

Despite falling behind, Everton showed resilience & fought back, with Abdoulaye Doucoure & James Tarkowski coming close to equalizing in the first half. The Toffees struggled to create clear-cut chances but remained determined to get back into the game.

The second half saw Newcastle’s dominating continue, with Dan Burn having a goal disallowed for offside after a VAR review. Both teams hit the woodwork, with Everton’s James Garner & Newcastle’s Alexander Isak coming agonizingly close to scoring.

As the game entered its final minutes, Everton were awarded a lifeline when a foul on Ashley Young in the box led to a penalty kick. Dominic Calvert-Lewin stepped up & converted the spot-kick with composure scoring his first goal since October & salvaging a crucial point for his team.

The draw extended Everton’s winless run to 13 games in the Premier League, but the late equalizer from Calvert-Lewin could prove to be a turning point for the struggling Merseyside club.
