Liverpool midfielder Thiago Alcantara has unfortunately encountered another setback in his return to the field.

After being sidelined for a significant portion of the current season due to a hip injury, Thiago showcased his skills during training and was given the opportunity to play against Arsenal.

However, his comeback was short-lived, as he sustained a muscle problem during the match.

Despite this, he displayed resilience and completed the game.

Regrettably, the Spanish footballer is expected to miss Liverpool’s upcoming Premier League game against Burnley, SportXparte reports.

In addition, Jurgen Klopp may also have to manage without Dominik Szoboszlai and Mohamed Salah. On a positive note, Watary Endo, who performed admirably in the 2023 Asian Cup with Japan, could potentially make a return for the Anfield team.

Thiago, who transferred to Liverpool from Bayern Munich in 2020, has played a total of 98 matches for Klopp’s team. However, this season he has only made one appearance, amounting to just 13 minutes of playtime.

His contract with the club runs until the end of the season, and it remains uncertain whether he will be released or offered an extension before then.

Despite these circumstances, the 32-year-old is determined to recover and rejoin the Liverpool squad before the season concludes. Currently, the Reds hold a two-point lead at the top of the Premier League, although Manchester City, their closest competitor, have a game in hand.
