English professional football manager, Wayne Rooney, said he was surprised that Chelsea defender, Ben Chilwell, was excluded from England’s squad for Euro 2024.

Rooney believes that Chilwell could have provided much-needed stability in the left-back position for the Three Lions in the ongoing tournament in Germany.

Ben Chilwell

At the minute, it is Tripper or [Joe] Gomez, for me, who should play there. I was very surprised and really shocked that Ben Chilwell didn’t get picked – just for the balance of having a left-footed player there,” the former Manchester United player said in a chat with The Daily Mail.

“He plays at Chelsea and has played well for England in the past.

“He is a good left-back – he’s been in tournaments as well – so I was really surprised he wasn’t selected,” Rooney added.

‘England Won 2024 Euro Tournament’ – Three Lions Fans’ Shares Dream In Stadium

A supporter of England men’s national football team, who fell asleep during the match against Slovenia on Wednesday evening, woke up to the sound of jeers after dreaming about his team clinching the 2024 European Championship.

Freddie Hahn, a 32-year-old who works in pensions management in Crawley, was caught in a photo looking exhausted and dozing off as the Lions struggled to secure a 0-0 draw in Cologne.

Embracing the collective sentiment of the country, Hahn chose to rest over witnessing the disappointing display on the field.

Sharing part of his dream from the stadium, Hahn said: “It was a very dull game; there wasn’t much going on, and I thought I was better off asleep,” Hahn told MailOnline.

“There was a lot of booing at the end, and that woke me up. I was having a nice dream about England winning the tournament, but I woke up to the nightmare of England’s performance.

Hahn, who invested £500 in travel and accommodation expenses for a three-day excursion alongside two companions, revealed that he purchased a mere 30 Euros ticket.

He participated in the event alongside his acquaintances from Crawley Devils, a team under his management in Southgate’s hometown.

“We actually attended the same secondary school,” Hahn said.

“I didn’t boo Southgate when I woke up because he’s from the same place as me, and I didn’t want to be too harsh on him.

“But honestly, I could probably do a better job than him. If I get the Crawley Devils promoted, who knows, England might come calling.
