FC Barcelona has agreed to sell its right back Julian Araujo according to SPORT journalist Toni Juanmarti.

Barcelona aims to secure the necessary funds to adhere to La Liga’s 1:1 financial rule, making player sales critical in the upcoming weeks.

Fortunately, money is coming in soon in this regard.

Just 24 hours ago on Friday, Barca announced that it had purchased its former academy prospect, Dani Olmo, from RB Leipzig on a six-year contract that runs until 2030.

Earlier this week, reports emerged that Barcelona was negotiating with Bournemouth regarding the sale of Julian Araujo who appeared to be out of favor with Hansi Flick during pre-season.

A deal valued at €10 million has been agreed upon, and Sport has now confirmed that the transaction has been completed.

The deal should be made to officials in the coming days, with The Athletic’s David Ornstein stating that Araujo will make the journey to England on Sunday.

It makes sense for Barcelona to move forward with a sale at right-back, as they have Jules Kounde, Hector Fort, and Alex Valle available alongside Araujo.

The Mexican struggled to find a significant opportunity in Catalonia, and it will be interesting to see if club officials come to regret that decision.
