Manchester City manager, Pep Guardiola recently shared important updates on the fitness of two key attackers, Erling Haaland and Jeremy Doku.

Guardiola addressed their absence during the match against Luton Town, where City secured a hard-fought 2-1 victory, ending a five-game winless streak in the Premier League.

Regarding Erling Haaland, Guardiola clarified, “It’s not a fracture, just stress. Please, I request you not to speculate if he broke his foot. It’s stress-related. We need to approach his recovery day by day and week by week.”

Guardiola remained optimistic about Haaland’s return, stating, “Hopefully, he’ll be fit for the Crystal Palace game, and we’re aiming for his availability in Saudi Arabia. Erling is eager to return.Following the Villa match, his training was affected, but after speaking with him yesterday, he feels significantly better. Perhaps he’ll be ready for Crystal Palace, but we’ll assess his progress.”

Regarding Jeremy Doku’s fitness, Guardiola commented, “It’s a muscular issue, not as severe as Kevin [De Bruyne]’s. We need to consider his explosive style and approach his recovery cautiously. Maybe within one or two weeks, he’ll regain fitness.”

Guardiola’s updates shed light on the status of these pivotal players, providing hope for their imminent return and emphasizing the team’s strategic planning amidst challenges posed by injuries and match suspensions.
