Aaron Wan-bissaka On The Verge Of Signing For Galatasaray
Meanwhile, Aaron Wan-Bissaka’s time at Manchester United has seen quite a few highs and lows since his big-money move from Crystal Palace in 2019.
He was seen as a potential solution to United’s issues in right-back position. Known for his one-on-one defending, the 26-year-old was highly rated and came with a lot of expectations to the club.
Although Wan-Bissaka was known for his strong defensive abilities, his offensive contributions were lacking. His attacking output and ball skills were below par, which gradually led to his being replaced by Diogo Dalot under Erik ten Hag.
During the previous season, Wan-Bissaka featured in 22 Premier League matches, primarily because of an injury crisis that required Dalot to fill in at left-back.
Despite his efforts in the previous season, it is evident that he is no longer the primary right-back option at Old Trafford under the current manager.
Sportxparte reports that With one more year remaining on his contract after Manchester United activated a one-year extension, the upcoming transfer window brings a decision point for both the club and the player.
Reports from beIN Sports Turkey suggest that Wan-Bissaka is nearing a deal to join Galatasaray, as the Turkish champions have shown strong interest in the defender.
Manchester United acquired Wan-Bissaka for £50 million in 2019 from Crystal Palace.
However, the reported fee of approximately £17 million from Galatasaray indicates a considerable loss on United’s original investment in the right-back.
Considering Wan-Bissaka’s declining impact and with only a year remaining on his contract, the reported offer from Galatasaray could be the best deal Manchester United can secure for the right-back.
