Jose Mourinho Names Premier League Team That Was Hard To Defeat

Portuguese professional football manager, Jose Mourinho, has openly acknowledged that he never found pleasure in facing Newcastle United at St James’ Park.

The Magpies seemed to consistently pose a challenge for Mourinho throughout his time in England.

With two separate tenures at Chelsea and coaching experiences at Manchester United and Tottenham, Mourinho developed a reputation for his intense rivalries with esteemed counterparts such as Arsene Wenger and Alex Ferguson.

But the former manager of Chelsea and Manchester United, while speaking during a recent podcast involving Rio Ferdinand, on FIVE, said: “I didn’t enjoy playing in Newcastle because I never win. Every time I went to Newcastle it was lose or draw, lose or draw. I think I won there once probably with Chelsea, with Man United or Tottenham. Out of 10, I would win once or twice.

“There was no rivalry with [Alan] Pardew or with [Sam] Allardyce or anyone there, I just knew that going to play St James’ was really, really hard.”
