Two English Premier League rivals, Arsenal and Manchester United, are preparing to face off against Bayern Munich in hopes of signing PSG and Dutch football star, Xavi Simons.

Sportxparte reports that at just 21 years old, Simons is currently participating in the Euro 2024 tournament and has represented the Netherlands in their victory over Poland with a score of 2-1 on Sunday.

L’Equipe reports that Manchester United has reached out to Paris Saint-Germain in their pursuit of Xavi Simons, while both Bayern Munich and Arsenal have also reached out to PSG with the same intention.

There are rumours that PSG is reluctant to allow the player to leave on a permanent deal, as a significant portion of any transfer fee this summer would likely go to PSV.

It is worth noting that Simons came back to PSG in 2023 after activating a reported €6 million buy-back clause in his contract with PSV.

His deal with PSG from PSV reportedly includes a provision that permits PSV to receive most of the proceeds from any future sale before January 2025.

Simons had a standout season with RB Leipzig last year, scoring 10 goals and providing 15 assists across all competitions.

In other news earlier, Sportxparte reported that former Arsenal and Everton striker, Kevin Campbell, has passed away at the age of 54 following a brief illness.

During his career, Kevin Campbell scored 148 goals in 542 appearances while playing for eight different clubs.

He achieved success with Arsenal, winning four major trophies, and also had spells at Leyton Orient, Leicester, Nottingham Forest, Trabzonspor, Everton, West Brom, and Cardiff.

Campbell made his last appearance as a player in February 2007 before transitioning into broadcasting. Earlier this month, Everton announced that he fell ill in May and was in a critical condition in the hospital.
