NPFL Honours Brodericks-Imasuen The Former Golden Eagles Coach

The Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) has mandated that all players and coaches wear black armbands at all league venues on Matchday 17 in honour of the late Sebastien Brodericks-Imasuen.

There will also be a minute of silence before kickoff in memory of the most successful coach in league history.

In response to Imasuen’s passing, NPFL Chairman Gbenga Elegbeleye disclosed this. Elegbeleye described Imasuen as a legend in club and youth coaching.

Throughout his career, one of the people who boosted interest in the Professional Football League was Sebastian Brodericks-Imasuen, a coach who popularized young football in Nigeria.

He remained in competition with other top club coaches, like Charles Bassey, James Peters, and Willy Bazuaye, the NPFL Chairman said.

The whole Nation mourns a legend in the leadership echelons during his passing, the NPFL Chairman said. At 85 years old, Brodericks-Imasuen died at a private medical centre in Benin, Edo State, on Tuesday, January 2, 2024.

He became renowned worldwide in 1985 after captaining the Nigeria U-16 team to victory in the first FIFA Cadet Championship held in China.

The well-liked Sabara has coached the El-Kanemi Warriors, Udoji United FC, and Bendel Insurance in addition to his achievements on the international front.
