Pitso Mosimane’s return to Saudi Arabia may come as a shock to Chiefs supporters and management alike.

Pitso Mosimane is allegedly still a target for the Kaizer Chiefs, despite rumours that the former Al Ahli coach is moving on.

The Chiefs were counting on Mosimane to stay in the nation until the DStv Premiership season ended in order to speak with the former Mamelodi Sundowns coach.

The team has been without a head coach for four months. The Saudi Pro League team Abha Club is reportedly hoping to sign Mosimane, but the Chiefs aren’t going down without a fight.

He also said: “It’s true that the club is currently looking at other coaches that can take over from Cavin (Johnson) but coach Pitso (Mosimane) is on top of that list. It doesn’t really matter what’s going on somewhere.

“They have kept him (Mosimane) as the first priority to eventually take over the coaching reigns at Chiefs. Yes, they were hoping to have him mainly at the end of the season, so this news that he is once again sought in Saudi Arabia could be unsettling. Although Molefi Ntseki, who was barely in place for a few months, was brought in, the chiefs were lately connected to Nasreddine Nabi.”
