Ruben Amorim Reportedly Reaches Verbal Agreement With Liverpool
Rumours continue to intensify that Ruben Amorim, the highly regarded Sporting Lisbon coach, could be on the brink of a move to Liverpool. With Jurgen Klopp set to depart Anfield at the end of the season, the spotlight has turned to potential successors, and Amorim has emerged as a frontrunner for the position.
Florian Plettenberg, a reputable transfer expert from Sky Sports, recently confirmed the existence of a verbal agreement between Amorim and Liverpool, signalling a possible shift in the coaching at the Premier League club. The negotiations between the two clubs are said to be ongoing, with Sporting Lisbon having a contract with Amorim until 2026. Reports indicate that the release clause for domestic clubs stands at 30 million euros, while foreign clubs could secure their services for 20 million euros. However, there seems to be a pact in place that would allow Amorim to leave for a reduced fee of 10 million euros if a top-tier club comes knocking.
Amorim’s impressive track record at Sporting Lisbon, where he guided the team to the league title in the 2020/21 season and currently leads the league standings, has caught the attention of Liverpool’s hierarchy.
