Super Eagles Line Up As Nigeria Faces Equatorial Guinea In 2023 AFCON

Super Eagles line-up for Nigeria Vs Equatorial Guinea African Cup of Nations (AFCON) 2023 match at the Stade Olympique Alassane has been announced by coach Jose Peseiro.

Sportxparte reports that Peseiro on Sunday unveiled a 4-4-2 formation for the attacking 4-2-3-1 pattern as the Nigeria Team embarks on their run for a fourth AFCON title.

In this crucial match, three players will be making their continental debut for the Super Eagles. Stanley Nwabali, the Chippa United shot-stopper, has been chosen over Francis Uzoho to guard the goal.

The team will be led by PAOK central defender William Troost-Ekong, who will be joined in defence by Semi Ajayi, Zaidu Sanusi, and Ola Aina.

In the midfield, Alhassan Yusuf and Frank Onyeka will be deployed, while Alex Iwobi will take on the role of the playmaker.

Victor Osimhen, the reigning African player of the year, has been given the green light to play as the lone striker. He will be supported by the dynamic duo of Moses Simon and Ademola Lookman.

The match is scheduled to kick off at 3 pm in Abidjan.
