Transfer: Fenerbahce Joins Race To Sign Paul Onuachu
Fenerbahce has teamed up with their arch-rivals, Trabzonspor, in their quest to secure the services of forward, Paul Onuachu, for the upcoming summer.
SportXparte reports that last season, the Nigerian player was on loan from Southampton to Trabzonspor.
At the age of 30, Onuachu netted 15 times in just 21 games for the Black Sea Storm.
Trabzonspor is eager to prolong Onuachu’s loan for another year but has been unsuccessful in negotiating a deal with Southampton.
Southampton are looking to sell Onuachu for approximately €11 million.
A Turkish news source, Fener Media, reports that Fenerbahce is interested in signing Onuachu.
The Istanbul club, now under the guidance of Jose Mourinho, will be participating in the UEFA Champions League the following season.

Meanwhile, reports suggest that Manchester United star player, Kevin De Bruyne, has officially confirmed his move to Saudi Arabia.
The star player was eliminated from the 2024 European Championship after Belgium lost to France 1-0 on Monday.
Italian journalist, Rudy Galetti, has reported that the Saudi team’s delegation and the Saudi Public Investment Fund (PIF) had discussions with De Bruyne’s representatives.
Galetti has stated that the Saudi team’s approval is a significant step in the transfer process, as it indicates their willingness to negotiate and potentially finalize the deal.
It’s up to Al-Ittihad and Manchester City to settle on a transfer fee.
Based in Jeddah, Al-Ittihad ended the previous season in fifth place in the Saudi Pro-League.
They also still need to sign Marco Silva, the former coach of Fulham, as their new manager this week.
De Bruyne, 33, would be joining a team that includes Karim Benzema, N’Golo Kante, and Fabinho if he were to make the move. His addition could potentially elevate the team’s performance.
