Tuchel’s Expresses Concerns As Bayern Munich Faces Lazio In Champions League
Bayern Munich manager, Thomas Tuchel, has expressed his concerns ahead of his side’s crucial Champions League match against Lazio on Tuesday.
In a pre-match conference, Tuchel emphasized the need for pressure to bring out the best in his team, especially as they were trailing 1-0 from the first leg.
Tuchel said: “The situation for us is very clear but for a top performance there needs to be a certain pressure.
“Our most recent results, including the first leg lost in Italy, mean that this won’t feel super-easy tomorrow. Pressure is necessary. It will be there tomorrow.”
The team’s recent form has been poor, with just one win in their last five games. Tuchel, who is set to depart at the end of the season, is determined to leave on a high note but faces the challenge of a demanding Italian opponent led by’ Maurizio Sarri.
“The bar is high,” Tuchel said.
He added: “We need to win by two goals against an Italian team, a Maurizio Sarri team.”
The pressure is on for Bayern, a club associated with success, as they risk ending the season without any silverware. Tuchel’s future is also uncertain, with rumours circulating about a potential early exit if they fail to progress.
“Not from my side,” said the coach when asked if Bayern’s potential elimination could mean an immediate exit for him.
“I know what we have agreed on and what we have communicated but you can be sure there is no one who has more ambition than me to win the game tomorrow,” he added.
Despite the pressure, Tuchel remains focused on the task at hand, stressing the importance of a strong performance and the need to score goals against Lazio. The team must play with composure & intensity to turn the tie in their favour.
Tuchel said: “As tensions rise and expectations mount, Bayern’s fate hangs in the balance, Every minute will count. Patience yes, if it is about not getting frustrated if things take a bit longer. Patience no, if it is only about generating possession. We have no time to waste.”
Sportxparte reports that the outcome of the match could shape Bayern Munich’s season & also influence Tuchel’s departure timeline.
