UFC 300: Dana White Responds To Speculations Involving Ronda Rousey And Brock Lesnar

The head of the UFC, Dana White, has responded to rumours that Ronda Rousey and Brock Lesnar will be competing at UFC 300.

It won’t be long until MMA’s premier promotion organisation stages another historic pay-per-view event after this weekend’s UFC 295 event.

Early April is most likely when it will happen, and fans are already getting excited about who might be on the card.

One suggested name is Lesnar, a former mixed martial arts star who is currently a WWE wrestler, along with Rousey, the former bantamweight champion.

But it appears that UFC President and CEO White has eliminated the possibility of the two returning at UFC 300.

“I get why everybody asks,” he told Sports Illustrated when asked about Lesnar and Rousey making appearances. “I love that everybody loves them like that and with so much passion. I do, too. But they’re definitely not coming back for UFC 300.”

Lesnar, 46, competed for the organisation for the first time at UFC 81, where Frank Mir submitted him.

After that, he had seven more appearances, his most recent being an octagon bout in 2016 at UFC 200, where he shocked everyone by making a surprise return. He also starred at UFC 100.

Lesnar’s unlikely return has been alluded to by White in the past, specifically in August, saying: “I think Brock’s done, I don’t think he ever comes back.”

Rousey has not competed in the organisation since losing to Amanda Nunes by TKO after 48 seconds in the first round of the 2016 UFC.

She became an iconic figure in the sport when she became the first woman to be inducted into the UFC Hall of Fame.

However, White has previously stated that Rousey has “accomplished everything she set out to do,” so it seems unlikely that her fans will see her back.

He said, “I’m focused on Madison Square Garden,” in reference to this Saturday’s UFC 295 event. “But no, they’re not returning.”
