Manchester United: Kobbie Maino and Erik ten Hag

English player, Kobbie Mainoo, has said that he is now happy with peace of mind that speculations surrounding the future of Manchester United‘s coach, Erik ten Hag, have come to an end.

The 19-year-old midfielder made this remark following his first-team chance by the Dutchman.

Mainoo’s standout year with Manchester United, highlighted by his goal in the decisive match of the FA Cup against the English Premier League champions, Manchester City, caught the attention of Gareth Southgate, who selected him for Euro 2024.

Sportxparte reports that despite claiming a second championship title at Old Trafford in just two seasons, questions were raised about Ten Hag’s position at the club following United’s eighth-place finish in the Premier League.

Nonetheless, Ten Hag announced on Sunday that he has received confirmation from the team that he will continue in his role for the upcoming season.

“Happy to be building with him, he’s already got two trophies and hopefully, there is more to come,” said Mainoo while interracting with reporters at England’s training camp on Tuesday.

The player added: “It’s nice to have that piece of mind. We know what manager we are going back to.

Mainoo added: “He put so much trust in me and belief in me. I can’t thank him enough.”

“Me and Ramsus are both young and we are quite close,”

“Christian, I’ve learned a lot from him. The journey he’s been on since the last Euros has been amazing.

“If I am to play on Thursday, I’ll need to put all that aside.”

Mainoo entered the game for Southgate in the late stages of England’s 1-0 victory against Serbia on Sunday, marking his first competitive appearance for the team.

The English team will then play against Denmark in Frankfurt on Thursday, and Mainoo is eager to take on Rasmus Hojlund and Christian Eriksen, both of whom he played with at Manchester United.

Christian Eriksen netted in the 1-1 tie between Denmark and Slovenia in their first match, three years after experiencing a cardiac arrest on the pitch during the Euro 2020 tournament.
