West Ham United secured a 3-1 victory over Luton Town at the London Stadium, effectively sealing the fate of the Hatters in the Premier League.

The match, saw David Moyes take to the home dugout for the last time after West Ham announced he would be departing at the end of the season.

The game kicked off with an early lead for Luton, as Albert Sambi Lokonga headed home a cross from Alfie Doughty just six minutes into the match. The Hammers struggled to find their rhythm in the first half, with Jarrod Bowen’s side-foot volley hitting the post as the visitors maintained their one-goal advantage going into halftime.

However, the second half saw a resurgence from West Ham, as James Ward-Prowse equalized less than 10 minutes after the restart. The momentum shifted further in favor of the Hammers when Tomas Soucek volleyed home to put them in the lead in the 66th minute.

Luton, already hampered by an injury to Ross Barkley in the first half, found themselves on the back foot as West Ham continued to press forward. Mohammed Kudus hit the post before academy graduate George Earthy sealed the victory by tapping in Kudus’ pull-back.

The defeat leaves Luton on the brink of relegation, with their fate likely to be sealed by the end of the day depending on the result of the Nottingham Forest vs. Chelsea match. Despite a valiant effort throughout the season, Luton’s inferior goal difference means they are facing the inevitable with just one game left to play.
