Ademola Lookman, a Nigerian winger for Super Eagles, has been crowned Player of the Season at the Italian Serie A team, Atalanta.
Atalanta announced Ademola Lookman as their top player for the 2023-2024 season today, June 27, 2024.
This marks Ademola’s second consecutive win in the prestigious award.
Lookman had an outstanding season, pivotal in Atalanta’s victory over Bayer Leverkusen in the 2023-2024 Europa League, marking the end of Leverkusen’s record-breaking unbeaten streak.
Recall his momentous achievement when he scored a hat-trick in the Europa League final, setting a new record for the tournament.
As a result, Lookman clinched the Europa League title and received the man of the match award and the tournament’s goal of the season.
In the season-ending, Lookman netted 11 goals and set up eight more in 31 league matches, adding up to 17 goals and ten assists in 45 total games across all competitions.
His goal in the Europa League final was also named the tournament’s goal of the season.
With his impressive performance, several top European clubs are reportedly interested in signing him.
However, no official transfer deal has been announced at this time.
It’s important to note that Lookman’s contract with Atalanta is set to expire on June 30, 2026. His market value is currently estimated at €40 million.
