AFCON Finalists Gear Up For Tournament Prep In Various Global Locations
Six of the finalists for the upcoming 2023 AFCON are making strategic preparations in different parts of the world, including the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia.
Among these finalists are the Super Eagles, Angola, Burkina Faso, Cape Verde, DR Congo, and Guinea.
Dubai stands out as a prime destination for these teams due to its exceptional sports infrastructure and top-notch facilities. Moreover, the favourable weather in Dubai during January and February, with temperatures ranging from 14 to 24 degrees Celsius, provides an ideal training environment for the players.
In contrast, Cote d’Ivoire, the tournament host, experiences considerably warmer weather, with temperatures soaring up to 31 degrees Celsius during these months. This variance in temperatures might pose challenges for teams training in such conditions.
Cameroon, Gambia, and Zambia have chosen Saudi Arabia as their training base, opting for a different climate and setting to fine-tune their strategies and tactics ahead of the tournament.
On the other hand, countries like Ghana, Morocco, Egypt, Mali, Tunisia, Senegal, and South Africa have opted to set up their training camps within their respective borders, gearing up for the AFCON on familiar grounds.
