‎Ajax is reportedly pursuing a loan deal for Manchester United midfielder Manuel Ugarte, according to Dutch reports

‎Ugarte joined Manchester United from Paris Saint-Germain for €50 million in 2024 but hasn’t yet made a lasting impact with the Red Devils.

‎This season, the Uruguayan midfielder has started only seven games and appeared in 16 across all competitions.

‎Ajax is targeting the holding midfielder, according to Voetbal International’s Tim van Duijn. The club is looking to reinforce its midfield following Jordan Henderson’s summer departure.

‎Their search has intensified after Liverpool midfielder James McConnell’s loan deal was terminated earlier this month.

‎Ugarte is reportedly interested in joining Ajax, with playing time on his mind ahead of the FIFA World Cup in five months.

‎Ajax are also reported to be targeting former fan favourite Daley Blind, who is 35 and currently with Girona in La Liga. His contract at Girona runs out after this season

‎Blind made 333 appearances for Ajax and could serve as a mentor to younger players at the club. The former Netherlands international is expected to pursue a coaching role at Ajax after retirement.
