Arsenals Keen On Signing Leicester City’s Kiernan Dewsbuy-Hall
Reports suggest that Arsenal have shown interest in signing Leicester City midfielder Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall.
However, they face tough competition from Brighton, who are already in negotiations with Leicester for a potential transfer this week.
Dewsbury-Hall, a product of the Leicester academy, has played a crucial role in The Foxes’ pursuit of the Championship title this season. He has contributed nine goals and nine assists in his 27 appearances so far.
According to The Athletic, Leicester values the 25-year-old midfielder at £30 million, and ongoing talks are taking place between the club and Brighton. However, the report also mentions that Arsenal and Fulham are keeping tabs on Dewsbury-Hall.
Arsenal has been actively searching for a new central midfielder to complement Declan Rice, especially considering Thomas Partey’s struggles with fitness this season. Additionally, Jorginho, who plays a similar role, is approaching the final six months of his contract and is likely to leave either in this transfer window or the summer.
Furthermore, Fabio Vieira, 23, has also faced fitness issues, leaving Arsenal overly reliant on Rice in midfield. However, in order to finance a move for Dewsbury-Hall, Arsenal may need to sell a few players due to their financial limitations with Financial Fair Play regulations.
The team has been restricted to acquiring loans during this transfer period, and they are eager to enhance their defensive capabilities.
Brentford has expressed a strong interest in the midfielder as well, but it is believed that Brighton has an advantage over them due to their participation in European competitions.
Dewsbury-Hall’s contract is set to expire in 2027. Clubs have until Monday to finalize player deals, as the transfer window will close at 11pm in the UK, SportXparte reports.
