Barcelona Look To Seal Pre-Contract Agreement With Top Defender In January
Barcelona have been tipped to pursue Crystal Palace defender, Marc Guéhi, this week, as speculation grows about Ronald Araújo’s future in Catalonia.
Araújo is currently unavailable for selection while he navigates mental health challenges following a costly red card in Barcelona’s defeat to Chelsea last month.
The situation has intensified rumours linking Guéhi with a move to La Liga.
Should the Uruguayan not manage to get things back on track in the near future, Hansi Flick’s squad will be left alarmingly short on options at centre-back.
With that in mind, Deco and the club are already exploring potential solutions, according to a report from transfer journalist Ekrem Konur.
‘Barcelona could reach a pre-agreement with Marc Guehi on January 1. If Araújo is unavailable, Barça may push for an immediate move.’
Guéhi, an England international, is primed to leave Crystal Palace as a free agent when his contract expires next summer.
Competition to secure his signature is expected to be intense.
