Bayer Leverkusen Braces For Potential Exits Of Florian Wirtz And Xabi Alonso

‎Bayer Leverkusen’s attacking midfielder Florian Wirtz and coach Xabi Alonso lead a growing list of potential big-name exits at the end of the season.

‎Leverkusen, who achieved the domestic league and cup double last season without losing a single match, are likely to finish second this season.

‎Bayern Munich has already secured the title, holding an eight-point lead with two matches still to be played.

‎Leverkusen club officials are currently preparing for the potential departure of key players such as Wirtz, Alonso, defender Jonathan Tah, and striker Patrik Schick.

‎This information is based on media reports and comments from people close to the club.

‎A move this summer to league rivals Bayern is seen as the most likely destination for the 22-year-old Wirtz.

‎The Germany international, who scored 10 league goals and set up another 10, has been in superb form and has long been the top transfer target for the German record champions.

‎With a contract until 2027, Wirtz could potentially bring in more than 100 million euros ($114 million) for Leverkusen in the event of a transfer. The popular Bild newspaper reported on Tuesday that Wirtz would prefer to join Bayern if he were to leave.

‎While Wirtz’s future remains uncertain, Alonso is more likely to depart, as he has repeatedly refused to commit to another season in Germany.

‎He has said talks would be held between him and club bosses at a later date.

‎A switch to Real Madrid in the event of current Real coach Carlo Ancelotti’s departure is seen as the most likely scenario.

‎Defensive leader Tah, who has spent a decade at the club, is also on his way out with his contract ending.

‎Last year, he was close to a Bayern move that failed to materialize at the last minute.

‎Leverkusen’s top scorer this season, Czech striker Schick, could also be on his way out, as he has recently become a target for Bayern as a second attacking option behind Bundesliga top scorer Harry Kane.
