Ivory Coast has defeated Nigeria in final match to win the 2023 CAF African Cup of Nations (AFCON).

The Elephants of Ivory Coast on Sunday won the Super Eagles of Nigeria in a thrilling match.

The Ivorians emerged victorious with a 2-1 scoreline, overcoming the Super Eagles of Nigeria.

Franck Kessie and Sebastien Haller’s goals proved decisive, nullifying Troost-Ekong’s early opener.

Version 1: The opening goal in the first half was scored by William Troost-Ekong, giving Jose Peseiro’s team the lead.

However, the Ivorians managed to equalize in the second half thanks to Franck Kessie’s header. In the dying minutes of the game, Sebastien Haller skillfully flicked the ball past Stanley Nwabali.

As a result, the Elephants have now matched Nigeria’s record of three continental titles.
