Italian professional football manager, Antonio Conte, has been named as the new head coach of Napoli.

Sportxparte reports that the former manager of Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur joined Naples on a three-year contract.

The 54-year-old left Spurs in March 2023 after a 16-month tenure and has not held a managerial position since.

Despite facing challenges during his time in North London, Conte has enjoyed a successful coaching career, highlighted by winning the Premier League in his debut season at Chelsea (2016-17) and claiming the FA Cup in his second season before his dismissal in 2018.

“Napoli is a place of global importance. I am happy and excited at the idea of sitting on the blue bench.

“I can certainly promise one thing, I will do my utmost for the growth of the team and the club. My commitment, together with that of my staff, it will be total,” Conte declared after accepting Napoli’s deal.
