Brentford Reaches Club-Record Agreement With Bournemouth For Forward Dango Ouattara

‎Brentford have agreed a club-record transfer for Bournemouth forward, Dango Ouattara.

‎The deal is valued at £37 million plus up to £5 million in add-ons, and Ouattara has been given approval to travel for a medical on Friday.

‎The 23-year-old pushed for the move as he has not been happy at the south-coast club, having not felt the trust of head coach Andoni Iraola.

‎Brentford have persuaded him to step in as the replacement for their former winger-forward Bryan Mbeumo, who departed for Manchester United this summer. Their previous club-record signing was Igor Thiago, who joined for around £31m.

‎Ouattara joined Bournemouth in January 2023 from Ligue 1 side Lorient in a deal worth £20million ($26.8 million).

‎During his two-and-a-half seasons at the Vitality Stadium, the versatile forward has scored 11 goals and provided nine assists in 88 games.

‎Capable of playing on either wing and through the middle, Ouattara scored seven goals and assisted four times last season to help Andoni Iraola’s side finish ninth in the Premier League.

‎He also scored ten goals in 30 appearances for the Burkina Faso national team.

‎Bournemouth have seen several key departures this transfer window, with Dean Huijsen, Milos Kerkez, and Ilias Zabarnyi all leaving the club this summer.
