Chelsea Close To Signing Tosin Adarabioyo
Chelsea are on the verge of securing the services of Fulham’s defender, Tosin Adarabioyo, on a free transfer.
The 26-year-old is nearing a long-term deal with the Blues and is set to undergo a medical examination next week.
Adarabioyo is keen on playing in Europe, which is prompting his move. While Newcastle and Manchester United were also said to be interested in the player, Chelsea seem to be leading the race for his signature.
In April, former Manchester City academy center-back Tosin Adarabioyo turned down a lucrative offer to become one of the top earners at Fulham. Chelsea have high expectations for Adarabioyo, aiming for him to enhance their performance in both offensive and defensive set-piece situations.
In a separate move, coach Bernardo Cueva is set to join Chelsea in a £750,000 deal from Brentford to oversee the creation of a dedicated set-piece department at the club.
The potential signing of Tosin Adarabioyo could hasten the exit of Chelsea academy defender Trevoh Chalobah, who is open for a transfer this summer amid rumored interest from Manchester United.
Additionally, veteran defender, Thiago Silva, is set to depart Chelsea and return to his former club Fluminense in Brazil during the upcoming summer transfer window.
