Chelsea Set To Surpass £150m Summer Spend With Samu Omorodion Signing
Chelsea are ready to take their summer incomings to around £150million after agreeing a £35m deal to sign Atletico Madrid striker, Samu Omorodion
The 20-year-old has finalized a seven-year contract as part of a transfer that is separate from the agreement that will see Conor Gallagher move to Atletico for a similar fee.
Omorodion is part of the Spain squad that has reached the Gold medal match at the Olympics in Paris and Chelsea believes he has huge potential.
He is tall, quick, physically imposing and scored eight goals in 35 La Liga appearances last season on loan at Alaves.
This summer, Chelsea has already invested over £100 million in players including Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, Filip Jorgensen, Omari Kellyman, Renato Veiga, Caleb Wiley, Marc Guiu, and Tosin Adarabioyo.
The Blues have offset those incomings with the sales of Ian Maatsen, Lewis Hall, and Omari Hutchinson, which have generated around £90m. They have also released Hakim Ziyech, Malang Sarr, and Thiago Silva.
Chelsea have had interest in Napoli striker, Victor Osimhen, but it remains to be seen if they will pursue a move for him now they have agreed a deal for Omorodion.
