Chelsea captain, Reece James, is in hot water with the Football Association after being charged for his use of “insulting or abusive” language directed at a referee.

The incident unfolded following Sunday’s intense Premier League showdown against Aston Villa, a game that James couldn’t participate in due to injury.

The man in the middle, match official Jarred Gillett, found himself at the centre of James’s reece in the tunnel after Chelsea’s unfortunate loss, sealed by Ollie Watkin’s late goal.

Reece James has until Friday, 29 September, to provide a response to this charge.
