Como 1907 has officially signed Argentine midfielder, Nico Paz from Real Madrid in a complex agreement with Cesc Fabregas praising him as “an exciting talent.”

The cost of the transfer is believed to be worth €6m, but Real Madrid retains 50 percent of the sell-on fee, so effectively, Como only half-owns the player.

The Merengues also asked to retain a buy-back clause in case they want to return him to base.

“There has been a lot of interest in Nico from other clubs and not surprisingly,” Como coach Fabregas told the club website.

“Every minute he was given on the pitch last season with some of the best players in the world he took advantage of to show what he could do and made an impact.

“He’s an exciting talent, left-footed, great on the wing and in the middle, and I am looking forward to working with him.”

Paz will turn 20 next month and has already his first call-up to the Argentina senior team, having represented the nation at both the Under-20 and Under-23 levels.

He is the son of former Argentina international Pablo Paz.

He made eight senior appearances for Real Madrid and scored once, in the 4-2 Champions League win over Napoli in November 2023.

“It means a lot to me, I am very happy to be able to join this family,” Paz told the Como website.

He is one of several new signings for Como this week, which also includes Maximo Perrone from Manchester City and former Barcelona captain Sergi Roberto, who has joined as a free agent.
