‎Jordan Pickford has agreed a new four-year deal with Everton, tying him to the club until 2029.

‎Earlier reports indicate that Everton were preparing to begin formal negotiations with the goalkeeper over a new contract, with his existing terms due to expire in June 2027.

‎Everton were keen to reward Pickford for his strong performances in recent seasons.

‎The England international played a major role in helping Everton avoid relegation and is now part of the senior leadership team in the dressing room.

‎“I’m delighted,” he said.

‎“Delighted to get it done it’s an extra two years, so four years in total.

‎“I’m over the moon, and it allows me to build a legacy for myself here, move forward, and build this club to where we want to be.

‎“Everton is a really special club to me. Coming from Sunderland as a young lad and growing into a man here, it’s been a special time for me and my family.

‎“I think everyone’s seen the changes and how I’ve developed over time, but I’m still that lad who loves to keep the ball out of the net.

‎“It’s been Everton who have helped me develop, and a lot of hard work has been put in as well.

‎“It’s always felt like a natural fit for me, with the fans and the passion it’s second to none and something I thrive off. It’s been a mega journey so far.”

‎Pickford since joining Everton

‎Pickford, alongside centre-back Jarrad Branthwaite, who signed a new five-year deal this summer, and loan signing Jack Grealish, is among Everton’s highest earners.

‎Since joining from Sunderland in 2017, Pickford has made 326 appearances for the Merseyside club, keeping 91 clean sheets. During his time at Goodison Park, he has played under eight different permanent managers yet remained the undisputed first-choice goalkeeper.

‎His consistent performances have also cemented his place as England’s No. 1.

‎Pickford has 80 caps for his country and played prominent roles in England’s runs to the European Championship final in 2020 and 2024, and to the World Cup semi-final in 2018.

‎Thomas Tuchel remains the head coach, and during the October World Cup qualifying games against Wales and Latvia, his team conceded no goals, recording two clean sheets.

‎Everton is also evaluating the contract status of James Garner and Vitalii Mykolenko, as both are in the final 12 months of their deals.

‎Last week, James Tarkowski agreed to a two-year extension to stay at the club until June 2028.
