Chelsea found themselves frustrated as they were held to a 2-2 draw by a 10-man Burnley side at Stamford Bridge.

Despite taking the lead twice against 10 men, the Blues were unable to secure the win, extending their unbeaten run against the Clarets to 11 matches.

The match started with Chelsea making a strong start, with Enzo Fernández coming close to opening the scoring early on, only to be denied by a brilliant save from Burnley goalkeeper Arijanet Muric. The visitors then had their chances, with Wilson Odobert forcing a stunning save from Chelsea’s Đorđe Petrović.

Chelsea thought they had taken the lead through Axel Disasi, but VAR ruled out the goal for handball. However, VAR soon worked in Chelsea’s favor when Lorenz Assignon fouled Mykhailo Mudryk in the box, Assignon saw a second yellow for committing a foul leading to a penalty that Cole Palmer converted with a cheeky panenka, & Vincent Kompany was also dismissed for his protest.

The second half saw Burnley showing great resilience, with Josh Cullen scoring a spectacular volley to equalize. Despite Chelsea dominating possession, Burnley remained dangerous on the counter-attack, with Lyle Foster testing Petrović with a header.

Chelsea finally retook the lead through Raheem Sterling’s assist to Palmer, but Burnley responded immediately as Dara O’Shea headed in a corner to level the score once again. Both teams had chances to win it late on, with Burnley hitting the crossbar through Jay Rodriguez & Chelsea’s Sterling missing a golden opportunity.

The draw leaves Chelsea frustrated and puts more pressure on manager Mauricio Pochettino, while Burnley can take pride in their resilient performance despite playing with 10 men.
