A strong team is coming together at Hajduk Split for the upcoming season, with the addition of Ivan Rakitić to the squad

According to Fabrizio Romano, the Croatian midfielder is leaving Saudi Pro League club Al-Shabab and will sign a contract with Hajduk until 2026. Despite enjoying his time in Saudi Arabia, he wants to play in Croatia.

Hajduk Split has put together a standout lineup, featuring Nikolo Kalinić as the director, Ivan Perišić as a fellow player, and Gennaro Gattuso as the coach. These changes have played a role in influencing Rakitić’s decision.

It’s worth mentioning that Gattuso, who signed a contract with the “Whites” until the summer of 2026, has already arrived in Croatia and has begun preparations.

Ivan Perisic has joined Hajduk Split on a six-month loan from Tottenham. It has been announced that the 34-year-old Croatian will become a permanent member of the club once the loan period expires.

Surprisingly, Rakitić opted for a lower salary at Hajduk Split compared to what he could have earned elsewhere. A significant portion of his guaranteed income is said to be covered by a sponsorship agreement with a company.

The club will only be accountable for a smaller portion of his pay, which will be linked to bonuses for winning trophies or reaching the group stages of European competitions.
