Juventus’ Frustration Continues After Goalless Draw Against Genoa
Juventus’ frustrating run of form continued as they were held to a goalless draw by’ a determined Genoa side at the Allianz Stadium.
The match saw Dusan Vlahovic’s late dismissal adding to the woes of the Bianconeri, who have now managed just one win in their last eight Serie A matches.
The game started with Genoa looking to break their 33-year wait for an away league win over Juventus, they came close early on when Matti Bani’s flicked header forced Wojciech Szczesny into a crucial save.
Despite the early scare, Juventus failed to find their rhythm in the first half, with both teams going into the break on level terms.
In the second half, Massimiliano Allegri made a triple substitution, hoping to inject some energy into his side. The introduction of Adrien Rabiot, Kenan Yildiz, and_ Samuel Iling-Junior almost paid off immediately, as Iling-Junior struck the upright with a powerful left-footed shot. Vlahovic and_ Andrea Cambiaso combined well but failed to convert their chances, with Moise Kean also hitting the woodwork in the dying minutes of the game.
However, Juventus’ frustration reached its peak in stoppage time when Vlahovic received two quick yellow cards, reducing his team to 10 men for the remaining few minutes.
The boring performance was evident in their shot count, as they managed only two shots on target throughout the game, a stat that showed their lack of attacking threat.
