According to reports in the British media, Ipswich Town manager Kieran McKenna is poised to sign a contract extension that will see him guide the club in their upcoming debut season in the Premier League.

Rumors have surfaced suggesting McKenna is a potential candidate for the managerial role at Chelsea following Mauricio Pochettino’s exit from Stamford Bridge.

In addition, there have been speculations about Kieran McKenna potentially stepping in as a successor to Erik ten Hag, whose future at Manchester United is still uncertain despite their recent FA Cup final victory against Manchester City.

Having led Ipswich to promotion, ending a 22-year absence from the English top flight, Kieran McKenna was recently named the League Managers Association’s manager of the year.

This marked McKenna’s second consecutive promotion since taking over as the manager of Ipswich in December 2021.

Thomas Frank of Brentford and Enzo Maresca, who guided Leicester to the English Championship title, are among those rumored to be potential candidates for the Chelsea managerial position.

Kieran McKenna, a former Manchester United youth coach, has also been mentioned as a possible contender for the managerial role at Brighton following Roberto De Zerbi’s departure from the South Coast club.

McKenna signed a four-year deal with Ipswich last year which is meant to keep him at Portman Road until at least 2027.
