It could be recalled that Nasarawa United emerged as the champions of the 2023-24 NNL season following their victory in the playoff tournament.

Meanwhile, the Enugu Rangers clinched the title of 2023/2024 Nigerian Premier Football League (NPFL) champions.

Enugu Rangers won the latest title last weekend after defeating Bendel Insurance 2-0 in front of their home crowd in Enugu.

This victory propelled the Rangers to 67 unbeatable points with just one game left to play after their nearest competitors, Remo Stars and Enyimba, suffered defeats of 2-1 to Sunshine Stars and Sporting Lagos, respectively.

Kenechukwu Agu scored the first goal for Rangers in the match at 32 minutes, and Chidiebere Nwobodo further extended the lead of the home team at 65 minutes.

This win marks the eighth time the Flying Antelopes have claimed the Nigerian football league title.

They first won in 1974, followed by 1975, 1977, 1981, 1982, 1984, 2016, and now, in 2024.
