Leicester Agrees Deal To Sign Oliver Skipp From Tottenham
Leicester have reached an agreement with Tottenham over the signing of midfielder Oliver Skipp.
Skipp is eager to secure a transfer from Spurs in pursuit of more regular playing time, having only played a minor role under Ange Postecoglou last season.
Newly-promoted Leicester were among a host of clubs vying for Skipp’s signature and have moved to bring him to the King Power Stadium.
Skipp is scheduled to undergo a medical with Leicester on Sunday, with a deal anticipated to be finalized before Monday’s Premier League match against Tottenham at home.
Spurs academy graduate Skipp made his professional debut in 2018 when still a teenager and will depart his boyhood club after 106 appearances.
The development was confirmed by the Athletic. Spurs have improved their midfield this summer with the signing of Archie Gray from Leeds, while Pierre Emile-Hojbjerg was signed by Marseille.
On the flip side, Leicester lost midfielder Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall to Chelsea this summer as they made their return to the League following a season in the Championship.
The 23-year-old will become the seventh summer arrival under new Leicester boss Steve Cooper, but will not be registered in time to feature in Monday’s match with Spurs.
