The latest round of Ligue 1 delivered storylines across the table late collapses, rising stars, and a tight title battle that continues to twist every week.

Here’s everything you need to know from a packed weekend in France.
Marseille throws away two-goal lead as Problems Deepen
Marseille entered the weekend looking to put their Champions League disaster behind them. Instead, their defensive frailties resurfaced once again as they let a 2–0 lead slip in a 2–2 draw away at Paris FC.
Mason Greenwood opened the scoring from the penalty spot early on, and the English forward then assisted Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang for the second in the 54th minute.
But Marseille’s composure evaporated in the closing stages. Jonathan Ikoné struck in the 82nd minute, before Ilan Kebbal equalized from the penalty spot in stoppage time after Geronimo Rulli misjudged a high ball and conceded a foul inside the box.
Coach Roberto De Zerbi did not hide his frustration afterward, saying the team’s mentality remains an ongoing concern. Marseille now find themselves falling behind in the title race, six points off PSG and seven behind leaders Lens, making their upcoming French Cup tie against Rennes even more crucial.
Monaco Hit Their Stride With Dominant Win Over Rennes
Monaco produced one of their best team performances of the season in a 4–0 win over Rennes at Stade Louis II, securing a third consecutive clean sheet and sending a strong message to the league’s top contenders.
The scoring started with Ansu Fati, who placed a composed finish into the bottom corner for his seventh league goal of the campaign.
Maghnes Akliouche added another shortly after halftime, before Mamadou Coulibaly and Stanis Idumbo sealed the rout, both assisted by an impressive Mika Biereth.
Despite the convincing performance, Monaco’s Ultras again protested against club CEO Thiago Scuro, showing that off-field tension remains a theme even during a strong run of results.
Elsewhere on Saturday, Arsène Kouassi’s 89th-minute free-kick secured a 2–1 win for Lorient against Nantes.
PSG Grinds Out a Tough Win at Strasbourg to Return to the Top
Paris Saint-Germain reclaimed first place with a tense 2–1 victory at Strasbourg, surviving the final 15 minutes with 10 men after Achraf Hakimi was sent off for a reckless challenge.
In an action-packed first half, Strasbourg had the chance to take the lead from the penalty spot, but PSG goalkeeper Matvey Safonov, who has a strong reputation for penalty saves, denied Joaquín Panichelli with a confident dive.
Moments later, a defensive mistake from Strasbourg captain Mamadou Sarr gifted PSG their opening goal. His failed clearance bounced off Bradley Barcola and fell kindly to Senny Mayulu, who struck calmly into the net.
Five minutes afterward, the home side equalized through Guéla Doué following a sweeping move started by a pinpoint through-ball from Panichelli.
With the match in the balance, Nuno Mendes stepped up in the 81st minute, heading in Warren Zaïre-Emery’s cross to restore PSG’s lead. The champions held firm despite being a man down, returning to the summit two points ahead of Lens.
The loss marked Strasbourg’s first league defeat under Gary O’Neil, ending his impressive unbeaten start.
Lyon Makes It Ten Straight Wins as Nartay Scores on Debut
Lyon continued their incredible surge with a 1–0 victory over Lille, marking their 10th win in a row across all competitions. New signing Noah Nartay made the perfect impression, scoring the only goal on his Ligue 1 debut.
The 20-year-old Danish midfielder, who joined from Brøndby last month, displayed maturity beyond his age.
He was strong defensively throughout the first half, then showed great composure to finish low between the goalkeeper’s legs after a clever cut-back from Ruben Kluivert.
The win lifted Lyon to fourth place level on points with Marseille but showing far better form. For Lille, the result extended their losing streak to four games, increasing the pressure on coach Bruno Génésio.
Metz continues to struggle as Angers claim a narrow victory
Metz’s difficult season took another downward turn as they suffered their 14th defeat in 20 matches, losing 1–0 at Angers.
Their task became even harder early on when Jean-Philippe Gbamin was sent off after slipping during a challenge and making dangerous contact while trying to recover the ball.
Angers capitalized on the numerical advantage, with Louis Mouton scoring the winner in the 25th minute.
Further down the table, Auxerre edged above Metz after earning a 0–0 draw at Toulouse, while Nice mounted a spirited comeback from two goals down to draw 2–2 against Brest thanks to second-half strikes from Ali Abdi and Elye Wahi.
