Man City Receives Major Boost As Rodri And Cherki Return For Monaco UCL Clash
Manchester City have received a boost ahead of their Champions League clash with Monaco.
Rodri, who made his comeback this season after an ACL injury, is back in contention. He missed the recent 5-1 Premier League win over Burnley, where City dismantled the newly promoted side.
Manchester City’s emphatic win served as the perfect warm-up for their Champions League showdown with Monaco at the Stade Louis.
Pep Guardiola heads into the tie with a major boost, as key midfielder Rodri has returned to training. According to Sky Sports journalist Ben Ransom, the Spaniard could be ready to feature on Wednesday night.
“Rodri first out for Man City training this morning after missing the win over Burnley due to pain in his knee.”
Rayan Cherki has also returned to training and was seen with the first team as he pushes for a possible start under Guardiola after recovering from a thigh injury.
Rodri’s return to fitness would be another significant boost for City. With him available and Marmoush continuing his strong form, Guardiola could finally rotate his squad effectively for the first time this season.
This comes after several injuries that have hurt Guardiola’s plans so far as he battles in every competition available to him this season.
