Man United Makes Fresh Offer For Bayern Munich’s Matthijs de Ligt
Bayern Munich’s Matthijs de Ligt has reportedly been offered a five-year contract by Premier League side, Manchester United.
It is understood that De Ligt is interested in making the move.
According to Sky Germany, Manchester United have also initiated discussions with Bayern to discuss the terms of a potential deal.
Erik ten Hag, who previously worked with De Ligt at Ajax, is said to be interested in bringing the defender to Old Trafford for the upcoming season.
Bayern values the 24-year-old at €50m (£42.4m), including add-ons.
Meanwhile, United are also keeping an eye on England defender Jarrad Branthwaite, but will only pursue the player if Everton lowers their asking price.
Man United Getting Set For Fresh Premier League Challenge
Sportxparte reports that the 2024/2025 English Premier League season begins in August, with Manchester United having its opening match against Fulham.
After a tumultuous few years, Manchester United fans are anxious for a better campaign and hopeful for trophies under Erik ten Hag.
The Red Devils will play their first ‘hot’ game against rivals, Liverpool, in their third match of the season on August 31 at Old Trafford and face Manchester City on December 14 at the Etihad Stadium.
Following disappointments last season, Manchester United is expected to take advantage of the next transfer window and a pre-season to improve the squad ahead of the league start.
While a title challenge might be a stretch in this campaign under Ten Hag, a top-four finish and a strong showing in the Europa League are realistic targets.
