Manchester City Set To Sign PSG Goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma On Deadline Day Transfer Deal
Gianluigi Donnarumma is poised to move to Manchester City on transfer Deadline Day after the Premier League side reportedly reached an agreement with Paris Saint-Germain for €35m.
The 26-year-old Italian international has been seeking a new club since PSG decided he was surplus to requirements. Despite his key role in helping PSG win the Champions League last season, he is set to depart.
PSG signed 23-year-old Lille goalkeeper Lucas Chevalier during the close season, and coach Luis Enrique has made clear the Frenchman will be his number one choice for this season.
It had been thought that Donnarumma would only join City if their regular number one, Ederson, departed, but PA News Agency reports that an agreement is now in place for the Italian to move to City.
City had brought in Burnley keeper James Trafford in the close season, and he has started all three of their Premier League matches so far.
However, Trafford has failed to convince the club. Donnarumma’s potential move now seems to be back on track as the deal progresses.
